01What are the ordinary tax rates in Georgia?

Below you may find “standard/ordinary” tax rates, however please note that there are many tax exemptions that might apply and sorts of statuses that might be obtained by Georgian businesses for tax relief. Therefore. the rates below are just for the reference and each transaction, business, holding of property or any other taxable object/subject shall be subject to separate deep and personal analysis.

20% Personal Income Tax

15% Corporate income Tax (Upon distribution of dividend or deemed distribution of dividend);

5% Dividend Tax;

0 - 20% Withholding Tax;

0 - 18% VAT, Reverse Charged VAT;

0 - 1% Property Tax

0 - 12% Import Tax;

Excise tax (fully depends on excisable goods) 

02What types of business forms can I register in Georgia?

Most widely used business forms in Georgia are:

  • ●     Limited Liability Company (its liability is limited to all its assets);
  • ●     Joint Stock Company (capital of such business is divided into shares of a certain class and quantity; the liability of a joint-stock company is limited to all of its assets);
  • ●     Individual Entrepreneur (it is not a legal entity and its liability is limited to all assets of the physical person who is registered as an Individual Entrepreneur).

However, we are able also to assist with registration of other business forms, such as:

  • ●     General Partnership;
  • ●     Limited Partnership;
  • ●     Cooperative;
  • ●     A non-commercial organization (which is NOT a business form), widely used for NGOs and other social platforms can also be registered in Georgia.
03Can I incorporate a business remotely?

Yes, you can. For remote incorporation of the company, we will need a Power of Attorney (PoA) from you.

04What are the procedures and requirements Power of Attorney?
  1. We provide you with a draft of needed POA;
  2. You print it out, and sign it in front of the notary;
  3. Then your signature is notarized;
  4. Notarized document to be provided for further legalization through Georgian embassy or apostille in your country (if the country from which you issue a PoA is party to Hague Apostille Convention); PLEASE NOTE - legalization and apostille are not needed for documents from CIS countries;
  5. Once the document is apostilled or legalized, - you send us the document in original form (via mail/express delivery).
